• Yes – SkinVive is very safe when performed by a medical professional. Temporary redness, swelling, pinprick marks, or occasional bruising can occur, but these usually settle quickly. To minimise risks, avoid heavy exercise, alcohol, extreme heat or cold, and makeup on the day of treatment.

There is very little preparation needed before your SkinVive appointment, however, we do recommend arriving with clean skin where possible. To help minimise the risk of bruising, it’s advisable to avoid alcohol for 24 hours beforehand, and, where medically approporiate, avoid blood-thinning supplements or medications such as ibuprofen, aspirin, fish oils and high-dose vitamin E for  a few days prior. Your suitability for treatment and a full-pre-care advice will always be discussed during your consultation. 

After your SkinVive treatment, it’s normal to experience some mild redness, swelling, tenderness, or small bumps at the injection sites, which usually settle within a few hours to a few days. We recommend avoiding strenuous exercise, excessive heat (such as saunas or steam rooms), alcohol, and applying makeup to the treated area for 24 hours. Keeping the skin hydrated and protected with SPF is also important while your skin settles.
