When you enquire about receiving Wrinkle Relaxing Injections (more commonly known as Botox™), SkinHD will invite you in for an initial consultation appointment, to discuss treatment options and advise if this is a suitable treatment for you. Here is a rundown of what to expect during this appointment.
What happens during a consultation?
Wrinkle Relaxing Injections are a prescription only medication, meaning that before they can be administered, a face-to-face consultation is needed with your SkinHD practitioner. You will be seen by a registered prescriber, so you can be safe in the knowledge that you will be seen by a qualified professional!
Consultations last between 20-30 minutes, and during this time, you will be required to complete a medical history form, which will include any allergies, previous facial aesthetic treatments you may have had and any medication that you may be taking.
Understanding your expected outcome
We will discuss your areas of concern and your expected outcome. This will ensure that you and your SkinHD practitioner are on the same page and that the results that you would like to see are achievable with the planned treatment – we will always be honest and advise if more or less is needed without any ‘sales patter’, and discuss any other alternative treatments that may be more appropriate.
We will advise how much product will be needed to address these areas and what to expect during the procedure, and tell you how much this will cost.
We will discuss any potential side effects
It’s important to be aware of any potential side effects of Wrinkle Relaxing Injections before your treatment – we will discuss these in full with you and we encourage our clients to ask any questions they may have before signing the consent form to ensure that you are happy to continue with the proposed treatment.

Yes, I want to go ahead with the treatment!
After the consultation, if you are happy to go ahead, we will book you in for your treatment. Consultations at SkinHD are free and there is no obligation to continue with the proposed treatment plan.
If this is your first time using Wrinkle Relaxing Injections, we will normally be quite light with the amount of product used, to ensure that there are no adverse effects. We ask our clients to come back in for their review appointment 2 weeks after the initial treatment to ensure that the outcome is as expected. We can administer top-ups at no extra cost if necessary, at the discretion of your SkinHD practitioner.
If it is your first treatment at SkinHD, we will need to prescribe the Wrinkle Relaxing Injections for you specifically, so will not be able to carry out the treatment the same day. Orders are very quick, and you can normally receive the treatment within 24-48 hours of your initial consultation.
At any subsequent appointments, we will still carry out a consultation to ensure that we understand your expectations, but the treatment can usually be carried out on the same day.
